Miami Vice

Last Saturday i went to see Miami Vice on its 1st week released here. Not becoz of the curiosity to compare it with the TV series version (not THAT old to have seen Miami Vice on TV), but becoz of the actors is Colin Farrell. A hot Irish actor, self confessed bad boy…here’s to remind u how he looks like :
Hot, huh? yeah…of course…why would i be so eager to see the movie if wasnt becoz of him? hehe…nah…since i saw the movie’s trailer few weeks ago, i have said to myself i gotta see this one. Maybe its the soundtrack (LP with Jay-Z’s Numb/Encore) or the hot hot hot Colin, or the cool trailer. I dont know. What i know is i’ve liked Colin since Minority Report and so on.
yeah the film was not bad, but i gotta say it wasnt that good either. A bit confusing, n the ending was not really good. Plus too many violent scenes and very scary gunshots scene. Definitely forbidden to bring a kid along or even teenagers, as there are obvious sexual scenes as well between Gong Li and Colin…(speaking about how hot he is…hmm…)
And one thing very bothering me ( i dont know whether others feel this), is i dont see the "chemistry" between Colin’s character (Sonny) and Foxx’s character (Rico). They were partners detectives, yet i didnt get the feeling that they were partners. They both were professionals, but it seemed as if they worked on their own instead of cooperating. Totally different if u compare them with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover (it’s Danny Glover his partner, right? im not really sure his name) in all Lethal Weapons. But perhaps, Lethal Weapons were still a bit funny sometimes, and Miami Vice is totally no humour at all. The film is too dead serious, violent and cold.
Overall, i wouldnt recommend you to see it on cinema, unless ur a fan of Colin Farrell like me, or just wanna see how hot Gong Li with Farrell (not THAT hot, actually…). Foxx isnt that good either. I never saw any of his movie (even not "Ray") but his acting here is a bit dull.
