Listening to What..?
September 18, 2006 by dryxanne
The answer is Kitaro.
I know there’s a particular girl out there now who, when sees the title of this post, wouldn’t even take a second look to bother to read more, as she considers this as one of the "ga penting…." posts, haha….( and LizzieBumbleBee, u know ur the one I’m talking about, hehe….)
Yes, i’m listening to Kitaro. After years of searching, running and huntings, sweating, well just to make it sound I did a great effort, I finally found it..!
The (very much pirated) MP3 CD of Kitaro’s songs..!
Since I didn’t really follow his art work, I can’t tell whether the CD has a complete collection of all his work, but I see that at least it’s got more than 60 songs, so I guess it’s enough for me. I actually purchased his (again, pirated) concert DVD, but couldn’t open it on my notebook. Talking about quality of a pirated anything…
So, I was so glad to find the MP3. It’s been quite hard to find Kitaro’s pirated MP3 CD in almost any places that sells pirated MP3 CD, since Kitaro’s music is perhaps not one of the common taste of these days. I mean, these days, these sellers sell whatever the hippest, like Fergie, BEP, Pussycat Dolls, Gwen Stefani, Britney, even Paris Hilton. Yes, I know the last name is unbelievable that someone would actually pirate her CD, but maybe that’s the point. Since most people consider it’s too expensive sometimes to buy original CD of their fave singers, they consider to buy pirated instead, let alone to buy original from someone like Paris Hilton. No offense, yes I think she can sing and her voice is not that bad actually, but my apology, I would never buy either her pirated or original’s.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t think twice to buy Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, India.Arie, Alanis Morissette, although in reality the only original CD I ever purchased was only India.Arie’s. Hehe…
Thinking about Norah Jones’, maybe I would buy hers next month. I saw her deluxe collection (plus some additional tracks I believe I had no idea about), and was thinking to buy it but cancelled because I wanted to buy India.Arie, and that would cost me a lot…
Back to Kitaro.
Currently, I’m listening to some best tracks of his, like "Koi", "Matsuri", "Silk Road", "Caravansary", and "Shichu No Michi". "Matsuri" is always my best favorite. I love its beats, its rythm, its spirit…It’s like, if you listen to it completely (it’s length is 8mins 54secs), in the end you’ll feel your much more spirited..! Definitely a very special track and indeed a great work of sound art..!
And I did purchase 2 other CDs, which are both Alicia Keys’. Too bad, I could only get good result from one only. The other, the Unplugged, couldn’t be played. I guess that’s a sign for me to buy the original…
Anyway, I think I would just get back to my chilling-out session with "Matsuri"…
