About Gay and Pig

No Offense…!!!
The title of this post is merely to describe that these few weeks, all in coincidences, I’ve come across some movies about gays and pigs. I mean movies about gays, and movies about pigs. Not them both in the same movie.
I was writing about pending books in my reading list this morning, when all of a sudden, my fingers hit the wrong button and there goes my 80% completed blog, into a blank new post. *sigh…
So I decided to quit the topic, as I lost my interest already.
Halfday later, here I am writing this one.
Well, few weeks ago, it was the Easter holiday, and the tv stations usually show some movies suitable for kids. I was sitting in front of the tv, after lunch, stretching my legs across the guest table - which I could only do in my dorm, coz if I do it at home, now I’ll be a handicapped - once again, no offense, coz it’ll be the result of my Mom’s anger to see me behaving as such a "polite" lady - and guess what? The TV Station was about to play "Babe".
Yes, "Babe", that famous film (from Australia if I’m not mistaken?) about a pig.
I never watched Babe before, although I heard that it was very interesting. So I stayed and watched it. And, it really touched my heart, u know. Not to the point that made me swear not to eat pork again (I’m not a frequent consumer of pork anyway), but to the extent that it succeeded to capture a different point of view about life, from the eyes of a young pig. Who was so naive into thinking that being taken to slaughter by butcher was the same as gone to heaven.
Of course young Babe didn’t know that the other pigs were taken to butcher. He just thought they were taken to a place where they would be departed to heaven. Imagine how shocked he was when he knew the truth, and that his master was a human, a normal human who enjoyed pork as daily consumption. I was dripping tears.
Another pig movie I saw was "Charlotte’s Web". And this one also succeeded to rip my heart, when I saw the noble Charlotte had to die anyway, like any other animals. Didn’t change my fear to spiders, but hey, at least there are 2 creatures connected to spiders that are proven to be noble and become heroes. Of course I’m talking about SpiderMan, what else???
Now to the gay movie topic.
I think the 1st one I watched last week was "Adam and Steve". A half drama and half comedy movie about a gay couple named Adam and Steve. The comedy is not actually a right word, since the funny scenes are not those usually funny stuff, u know? I’m not that good with words, so you have to go and see this movie by yourself to catch what I mean. But this one also succeeds to touch my heart. At least I admire the acting qualities of the stars ( I forgot their names), if they are straight in the real life. Especially "Adam", at times I forgot that he’s a guy, I actually felt that he was a SHE, because the way he looked, the way he talked and expressed his feelings, really looked like he was a lady in love…Well I think the way I express it is not quite correct, since I don’t have any gay friends, so I could only describe their relationship using the only type of relationship I know, male-female, so I had to say that Adam was the female side here, although at times Steve was also so delicate and sensitive like a woman.
So, you could understand if I say, after you see another gay movie, in fact that’s the title - "Another Gay Movie" - , that "Adam and Steve" was something with higher value and deserved much more credits then that yucky disgusting lack of creativity movie that is practically GAY VERSION of the famous "American Pie".
Try to see ANOTHER GAY MOVIE, and you’ll grab exactly what I mean.
And additional, last night I saw "Second Time Around", in which, the sister of one of the character Jackson, named Martine, was about to confess to their mother that she was a gay. She came to a family dinner with a girl friend (or was it girlfriend?) named Candace, and I didn’t need to wait until the next 5 scenes where it was soooo obvious that they were (gay) couple. Which makes me wonder, if I spot more carefully, I might find some people around me are actually gay couples?
But what good does it bring to me? To spot and identify certain people are gay and certain people are straight? Because, honestly, I think I prefer gay but honest and true friends, rather than straight but hypocrite plus backstabbers.
Although I’m sometimes hypocrite as well.
And I’m straight.
Now go figure…
