Kisah Ratu Tales Bogor

Alkisah ada seorang Ratu yg berjuluk Ratu Tales Bogor, karena ukuran betisnya yg menyaingi tales bogor.
Inilah foto resmi Sang Ratu sedang duduk di singgasananya :
Coba perhatikan betisnya, spt tales bogor kan? hehehe….
Itu foto sang Ratu sekitar 2 bulan yg lalu saat perayaan Tahun Baru Imlek. Dimana sang Ratu memakai baju merah spt layaknya tradisi Imlek. Plus tentu saja, bandana merah sbg pelengkap, kan sang Ratu adalah fashionista, mesti matching dong ah…
Lalu, kemaren, juru foto baru sang Ratu *me,myself and I, of course* memotret lagi beberapa foto terbaru beliau.
Awalnya beliau masih lumayan nice, mungkin karena masi curious dng si juru foto baru ini :
Lalu tingkat keingintahuannya mulai menaik :

Lalu beliau mencoba mencari informasi siapa si juru foto baru ini, dng melirik ke dayang-dayangnya disebelahnya (a.k.a Nanny Yanti) :
Karena kurang jelas melihat tampang si juru foto, si dayang2 akhirnya menggendong sang Ratu lalu mendekatkan ke muka si juru foto.
Tampaknya sang Ratu tidak suka tampang si juru foto. Air muka beliau mulai berubah, spt Bruce Banner sbelum mengamuk dan berubah menjadi hijau. Wah, si juru foto mulai takut dan mundur….
Tapi ternyata sang Ratu cuma lapar….Akhirnya saking kesalnya karena makanannya belum tersedia juga, beliau menggerogoti lengannya sendiri yg sekilas tampak sama dng paha KFC yg montok menggiurkan itu…..

Only Good Trees Produce Good Fruit
(Mt. 7:17–20; 12:34b–35)

43“A good tree does not produce bad fruit. And a bad tree does not produce good fruit. 44Every tree is known by the kind of fruit it produces. You won’t find figs on thorny weeds. And you can’t pick
grapes from thornbushes!

45Good people have good things saved in their hearts.

That’s why they say good things.

But those who are evil have hearts full of evil, and that’s why they say things that are evil. What people say with their mouths comes from what fills their hearts.

==================================================

A friend in my list posted out a bulletin that quotes Luke 6 : 43-49. And when I looked it up in the Bible, I couldn’t more agree to what’s written. Especially with what’s going on lately, with all the debates and anger and curses over the FITNA video and its creator Geert Wilders.

A friend once told me, that no matter how other people behave, how bad other people become, we always have our choice to be UNLIKE them. We don’t have to follow what’s wrong, and we should be able to tell, and do, what’s right.

I can really understand how angry Moslems people about this film, and its creator. But if I may suggest, if they react with anger, it’ll just make things worse. Other people who don’t know well, may jump to the conclusion that what’s described in the movie, that Moslems are that bad, are actually true. Which is a wrong conclusion.

So, to all my Moslem friends, stay calm, stay cool. Your heart may be filled with anger, but your head must be filled with logics and patience. Fight back, if you must, but remember, choose your way carefully.

Have a blessed weekend, everyone! ;)

Boys and Their Toys

For the 1st time, I will write about gadget. Especially about this thing they call, GPS. Or portable GPS. Or automotive GPS. Whatever, I’m not sure the correct term.

So, one of my colleague bought this Garmin Nuvi 200W GPS yesterday. After weeks and weeks of browsing, discussing, considering and reconsidering, he finally decided to buy it. Which made me wonder, who’s worse in decision making, men or women? Because he, and other colleagues, often "criticized" me that I planned to buy so many things yet ended up buying none. Like the LCD TV, the Honda Jazz, and the apartment. Ha ha ha…But yet, he took almost 3 weeks something to decide to buy this little gadget that only cost IDR 2.7 mill, much less compared to things I mentioned above that are in my list of consideration, right?

Look who’s talking now, eh? Guys…

Anyway, apparently, other guys (my colleagues) who accompanied him to the store, got very interested as well. Actually, they have been interested ever since he started the research weeks ago. So, today, the rest of the guys ( all 4 of them) just bought one similar "toy" for their own. With a slightly lower price, IDR 2.5 mill.

And now they are so excited, walk around in our room, testing the gadgets, and even plan to go down to the office yard since "the signal’s not good in this room, let’s go out!". And jokingly, they said they’d start a GPS Lover’s Club, that will meet every week, and discuss everything about their pretty little toys and where they have gone with it and how it performs.

3_1

I might sound a bit jealous, right? Perhaps. But really, since I don’t have a car, I don’t drive, I just don’t see the need to have this thing, yet. Although it’s a good bargain, actually. But I’d rather splurge it for some nice dresses or shoes or bags. Woman, I am. It’s just feel a bit funny seeing all these grown-ups males being so excited, like kids getting their sophisticated toys and play around with it and pushing every button (or touching everything on the touch screen) to see what will come up if they do!

Boys…be it XBox, or PS3, or Wii, or Communicator, or Sony Ericsson P1i, or Garmin GPS. Boys always love toys.

And here’s a shot of one of the toys in one of my colleague’s hands :

Well, if only I’d known about this gadget, or was interested and considered about this gadget a few months ago, it would’ve been a great birthday gift to that particular someone who I’m sure would totally love it…

Yep, I had good feelings when I sent it to ELLE Indonesia last week. Aku mengirim 2 kupon tepatnya, yg satu adalah utk nonton premier film "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly", dan yg satu lagi adalah utk voucher 500ribu rupiah utk aksesoris merk Tasha D.Gioielli.

Well, kalau kalian belum tahu, rasanya aku ini termasuk golongan orang yg "if I want it, then I must work hard to earn it", dan bukanlah golongan orang2 beruntung yg sering memenangkan (atau pernah) undian2 tertentu. Hell, no! Bahkan sebuah payung dari BCA pun tak pernah kumenangkan, padahal aku adalah nasabah setia selama hampir 12 tahun. Damn BCA…!!! dimana letak keadilan sosial, hah??? *lho kok jd emosi gini hehehe…*

Anyway…

Ternyata, setelah menawarkan sana sini, setelah me-reschedule janji dng dokter gigi, aku masih belum menemukan teman utk nonton bareng. Karena tiket yg kumenangkan adalah 2, jadi tentunya aku bisa membawa seorang teman utk nonton bareng.

Ada yg tertarik? :)

Syaharani3 Kemarin kutanya apakah salahku
Dan jawabnya hanya diam saja
Kemarin kutanya apakah kau rindu
Dan jawabnya hanyalah pandangan hampa

Ku kira ada yang keliru
Sampai tak ada cara mengungkapkannya
Aku tak apa
Yang ringan saja
Kemarin kutanya apakah kau rindu
Dan jawabnya hanyalah pandangan hampa
Dan kemarin ku lihat gambar bekas pacarmu
Terpasang lagi jadi lukisan
Eh terserah kalau masalahnya cuma begitu
Simpan saja buat agendamu sendiri
Aku tak apa
Yang ringan saja
Kalau begini dalam hatinya
Tak perlu lagi aku bertanya
Bila begini namanya cinta
Biar kucari yang lain saja
Simpan saja buat agendamu sendiri

My New Blog

I did inform, implicitly, that I have another blog, in the previous post where I linked a post from Friendster Blog to the one in Blogspot.

But let me make it official here. My new (or resurrected, more precisely) blog, is here : Dryxanne’s Minds.

You can roam between this one and that one, now and then, see if I’ve posted new thoughts or "mumbles" - as I like to call those blurring, sometimes unimportant thoughts - that I hope might be useful for you also.

I’ve thought about writing only personal thoughts - feelings, daily happenings, personal life - in that Blogspot, and other general things - things like current issues, movie reviews, musics etc - in this  Friendster blog, because originally I created the Blogspot one last year to be a place where I can throw all my personal, very personal, thoughts without anyone reading it. But then, since that Blogspot had been read by some friends already, I don’t think I can stick to that idea anymore. Instead, I might switch them up, and post my personal things here, and start building a more interesting blog over there in Blogspot.

Or, I might mix them up, post a lil bit of thoughts here and there, and vice versa. They’re both my blogs anyway, my precious…no one can take them from usss….*so Gollum, eh?*

So, enjoy reading, or shall I say, enjoy your suffering to read more mumbles from me :)

And please, feel free to drop comments!

…IS A MUST, APPARENTLY!

I’ve written a post about it, you can read it here.

Because I’m too lazy to copy-paste it here, plus all those troubles inserting those pics. It’s a blog I started since last year, out of curiosity, but wasn’t maintained until recently. I don’t know if I’ll have enough time to maintain both blogs, I might try to post more on the Blogspot because it’s new, and more practice is good for me to get familiar with its template and features.

So remember to add the Blogspot one into your fave link, that is if you’re still interested to read my thoughts :)

Enjoy reading :)

…even decided whether to buy a house, or a car. Or which one is more important.

…planned on where to spend my annual leave this year. Or when is the right time. And with whom.

…changed my mind to say NO to pre-marital intercourse (or any intercourse outside wedlock), although sometimes I question myself whether it’s really worth it.

"That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."

(Neil Armstrong)

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Last night, suddenly this line rings in my head. I don’t know what triggered me, perhaps the event of me turning on the water faucet and watching the water run. It just suddenly reminded me of one episode in OPRAH recently, the one that discussed about vast effects of global warming  and its causes and how we can help to reduce the effects by just doing one of several simple acts everyday.

Like don’t let the water run when you don’t need it. Many times when we brush teeth, or wash our hands, we turn on the faucet and let the water just run. Without even thinking that when calculated with millions and billions of people who do the same, tons of gallons of water are wasted everyday, without necessary cause. While millions in Africa are dying from lack of clean, hygienic water.

I admit that I’m being hypocrite here, because honestly, while I don’t let water run like that and try my best to use water efficiently, I still fail at some points. Like, I can’t sit on my toilet and spend 10-15 minutes pooping without flushing at least 5 times. And spraying water at a countless times to clean up myself in between the flushing times. Pardon my honesty describing these things I do that may make you feel disgusted (or even shocked that I’d share this private habit here publicly in this blog).

But at least, I’m trying to reduce the habit, and I always turn off the water faucet when I’m not using the water. So, it is painful to see other people being so ignorant about it. Just like when I see some people in my office ignoring the running water from one of the press faucet in the restroom that is not functioning properly, causing the water to keep running long after the person who uses it has left the restroom already. It is a bit forcing, but it could actually be stopped by turning the faucet fast left and right a few times. Thus saving the water from running unused.

These simple things we could do, yet we are so ignorant to do. On the thought that we don’t pay for it, or it’s already been calculated inside the office rental cost.

I read somewhere that says people who think like that, they only consider the current moments. They don’t think about what will happen in the coming 10, 20 or 30 years. When we tell them that it’s our descendants that will suffer and live with the results of what we are doing today, some of them will even have the guts to say that they won’t care, because it’s in the (uncertain) future, and by then they are probably dead anyway, so why bother?

Isn’t that the most irresponsible way of thinking?

I’ll let you to decide.

So what’s the connection of Neil Armstrong’s infamous quote with the content of this post?

I was just thinking that his quote is also applicable to what’s going on now. What seems to be small step for a man, can mean a giant step to mankind. Saving a little bit of water by turning off the faucet when not in used, can mean saving tons of gallons of water through out the planet. Thus, might help to stop human existence from extinction one day. We never know, but if we know something we can do that might help, why won’t we?

It takes not millions of people to start doing it together. Anyone of us can start anytime, and spread the habit to people around us. It takes time, but with strong will, it will spread until everyone does it. Let’s just hope that it’s not too late yet.

We live in a planet that is growing older everyday, getting more exhausted by hours, and running out of resources by minutes passed by. And we still live like everything’s gonna last forever, like everything will be provided endlessly. We live in an already sick and dying planet, yet we live like we have another destination to go to, incase this planet collapses and we can’t live in it anymore.

While in fact, we are not going anywhere. We are staying here, we are stuck here for another 50 years perhaps, or even more. And we are killing the only place we are able to be living in.
